Brighten a Child's Holiday Season with Children of Hopeposted on Monday, October 17, 2011 Each year, our medical case managers champion the Children of Hope Program to provide toys, clothing, and other donations to brighten the holidays for children affected by HIV/AIDS. Children are identified by our case managers' daily interactions with patients and their families. Our case managers match families affected by the disease with those who want to make a difference through the program. Last year, we served 24 families and 46 children through the Children of Hope Program. Kids for Kids at Williams Middle School provided gifts for six families thanks to the hard work and coordination of Director Jackie Weaver. Individual sponsors such as Ron Vereen, Dr. Akinwale Olatosi, and Steve Iannarone sponsored families, as well as companies like Sexton Dental Clinic and Long's Drugs. Annual sponsors McLeod Hospital 11th Floor Orthopedics and Regency Hospital continued their support for this program as well, providing holiday meals and gifts to families that would not otherwise be able to afford them. We rely on the support of local organizations and individuals to make this program possible. If you or your organization would like to get involved, contact La'Quantia Goodman at (843) 656-0357 or [email protected]. Patients who would like to sign their families up to receive assistance can talk to their medical case managers. * This is a printer friendly version of the original page, made to save you ink and paper.
