Hope for A Healthy Community: HopeHealth promotes health and wellness in Florence and beyond

Hope for A Healthy Community

posted on Sunday, January 15, 2012

Over the past year, HopeHealth has committed to promoting healthy living, disease prevention and awareness not just within our clinics but also among the communities we serve.

On Saturday, October 15, HopeHealth gathered a team of walkers to support The American Cancer Society's Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk at Magnolia Mall. Through a sponsorship and donations, HopeHealth contributed $780 to the cause. Overall, the walk raised $5,594 for breast cancer research and prevention.

Also on Saturday, October 29, The American Heart Association's Heart Walk was held at Francis Marion University. HopeHealth raised $580 for the Heart Walk by collecting donations and selling hearts, bracelets, and pins.

HopeHealth promoted preventive health and attended the Pecan Festival on Saturday, November 5. HopeHealth partnered with Radio Free Florence at the Pecan Festival this year, bringing a jumbo LED screen to the streets of Florence. The screen, coupled with a mid-afternoon iPad giveaway, brought a crowd to our booth. Check out our Facebook page to see more pictures.

For the 14th consecutive year, HopeHealth recognized World AIDS Day on December 1 and hosted the AIDSWALK, an annual awareness and fundraising event, in Florence, Orangeburg and Aiken, South Carolina.
