The CARE House Joins HopeHealth
In January of 2009, HopeHealth developed a parent-subsidiary relationship with The CARE House of the Pee Dee. The CARE House, which stands for Child Abuse Resource and Evaluation, is a child advocacy center located in Florence that provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team response to suspected or reported cases of child abuse. These cases are referred by law enforcement, the Department of Social Services, and medical providers.
At The CARE House, services to children are conducted in a child-friendly setting aimed at providing a non-traumatic assessment experience. Great measures are taken to ensure the safety and well being of the young patients of The CARE House, and the compassionate staff is trained to handle all types of situations. Dr. Kathy Saunders, Director and Forensic Medical Examiner of The CARE House, says, "Since our inception, our staff has provided services to over 1500 maltreated children from the Pee Dee area. Each situation brings unique challenges and opportunities, but the greatest is ensuring the safety and well-being of the child. Often, cases are emotionally overwhelming. It is the hope of the staff of The CARE House that through services received, each child and family leaves knowing there is help, hope, and healing for their life. I would ask that our staff and multidisciplinary team members be remembered daily as we make decisions that will affect the lives of our most vulnerable...our children."
HopeHealth is pleased to introduce you to The CARE House, and we look forward to aiding The CARE House with its mission.
