Introducing: Daniel Driffin, Health Educator

My name is Daniel Driffin, and I'm the Health Educator at HopeHealth. I graduated with a degree in Biology from Morris College, a Historical Black College/University located in Sumter, SC. I have an ultimate goal to attend medical school in Georgia.

As the Health Educator, I provide services to our clients and their families in group and one-on-one settings. In addition to providing HIV testing in-house and in the community, I recruit for our interventions such as VOICES/VOCES, and Many Men, Many Voices (3MV). I also create and maintain documentation of prevention articles, Public Service Announcements, flyers, and statistical information.

I love my job; I honestly don't see it as a "job," but as a calling. When I was hired as the Health Educator, I made a commitment to myself and to the clients we serve to stay on the cutting edge of knowledge. With a disease like HIV, changes occur daily. It's crucial to seek out knowledge from scientists, clinicians, and patients about the changing virus.

I'm surprised at how many people that I work with have personal and invested interest to the HIV/AIDS field. It is commonly quoted that if you are not infected, you are affected. Truly that is seen in fruition each day of the week.
