Brian Hanna, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Brian Hanna joined HopeHealth in 2010 as our Chief Medical Officer after several years practicing in Darlington. He went to Wofford College for his undergraduate studies before attending the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, and completed his residency at Anmed, in Anderson, South Carolina.

David Culpepper, MD, FACP

Dr. David M. Culpepper reestablished his practice at HopeHealth's newest location on Cherokee Road in August 2011.  Dr. Culpepper has spent 24 years in the medical field, specializing in Internal Medicine.  Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Dr. Culpepper attended medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia.  He completed his residency at Richland Memorial Hospital and Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. 

Krista M. Kozacki, MD

Dr. Kozacki joined the HopeHealth team of providers in August 2011.  She attended State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine before completing her residency at the McLeod Family Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.  As a Board Certified Physician specializing in Family Medicine, Dr. Kozacki has spent seventeen years practicing medicine in the Florence community. 

Alan Barrett, PA-C

Alan H. Barrett is a Physician Assistant specializing in Family Medicine.  Mr. Barrett obtained his Bachelor's degree in psychology and philosophy at Rhodes College, completed his Master's degree in psychology at the Citadel College of Graduate Studies, and became a PA-C at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Health Professions.  Before coming to HopeHealth in June, Mr. Barrett was a Mental Health Counselor at Charleston Mental Health. 

Mr. Barrett is currently practicing at  HopeHealth's new branch office at 230 Cherokee Road in Florence.

Sujeeth Shetty, MD

Sujeeth Shetty, MD, is a board certified family medicine physician. He attended medical school at the J.S.S. Medical College in Mysore, India and completed his residency through the Penn State University Good Samaritan Family Practice Residency Program. He has been with HopeHealth since October 2009.

 



John J. Kirkland, MD

Dr. John J. Kirkland merged his family medicine and pediatrics practice with HopeHealth in summer 2010. Dr. Kirkland has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years, and also served three years as a General Medical Officer in the US Navy. In his spare time, he enjoys operating HAM radios, target shooting and hunting.

Patricia Barrineau, MSN, APRN-BC

Patricia Barrineau is a board certified nurse practitioner at HopeHealth. She completed her education and certification as a nurse practitioner at the University of South Carolina School of Nursing and began practicing at HopeHealth in late 2010.

Mary Mitchell, MSN, CFNP, APRN, BC

Mary Mitchell is a Board Certified family nurse practitioner at HopeHealth. She has been seeing patients of all ages at HopeHealth since September 2009. Ms. Mitchell spends much of her time outside of HopeHealth serving her community. She is a Faith Community Nurse Coordinator, and in this role serves area churches in hosting health fairs, developing wellness programs and presenting health topics.

Renee Smith, Ed. D, MA, LPC

Renee Fitch Smith, Ed. D, MA, LPC, is HopeHealth's behavioral health counselor. She provides counseling services for our community health center patients and also provides expertise at The CARE House.

She has been counseling for 14 years. After completing undergraduate studies at Coker College, she attended Webster University for her Masters in Counseling and recently completed her Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University Sarasota Florida.

Paul DeMarco, MD

Dr. Paul DeMarco is the director of the Rural Community Health Program at Francis Marion University and has been providing medical care to patients in rural and underserved areas for more than 17 years. He began accepting new patients for HopeHealth in early 2011.

Akin Olatosi, MD

Akin Olatosi, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases - Fellow American College of Physicians. He has been practicing medicine for 20 years. At HopeHealth, Dr. Olatosi serves as one of our infectious disease physicians, providing skilled and compassionate health care to those with HIV ands AIDS. Dr. Olatosi attended medical school in Nigeria at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine, and completed his fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
