AIDSWALK 2011
Event Date: Saturday, December 03, 2011 at 10:00 AM HopeHealth may be the fastest growing Community Health Center in South Carolina, but as we grow, we continue to fulfill our original mission - raising funds and awareness for those living with HIV/AIDS in our communities. On December 3, HopeHealth will host its 14th annual AIDSWALK . The Walk will be held in Florence, Orangeburg, and Aiken. Last year, we introduced a new facet to the AIDSWALK - the "Walk With Us" program. "Walk With Us" allows non-profit organizations to register to participate in the AIDSWALK. For every dollar the group raises, 50 cents of it will go directly back to the group to fund mission trips, school trips, and special projects. The "Walk With Us" program was a great success last year, and through it we were able to encourage participation and fulfill the financial needs of more than one program. The "Walk With Us" program will be offered to non-profit groups again this year. The AIDSWALK will be held in Florence at Central United Methodist Church, in Orangeburg at Edisto Memorial Gardens, and in Aiken at Osbon Park. Also Join Us for World AIDS Day 2011 An estimated 1.1 million Americans are living with HIV, and yet one out of five don't know it. Join us Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m. at Wayside Chapel Baptist Church in Florence for a program as we raise awareness for HIV/AIDS and celebrate the lives of those affected with the disease. The program will feature guest speakers, music, and a candlelight vigil, followed by refreshments.
